Yes, Street Art is Protected by Copyright and Against Destruction by VARA

Street Art is generally protected by Copyright law in the United States. In addition, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in 2020 that destruction of certain Street Art of a "recognized stature" can result in heavy statutory damages under the Visual Artists Rights Act of 1990 (VARA).
